There is a lot of hype surrounding Google Adwords with internet marketers trying to sell any number of products to help you with this traffic driver. Don't buy them!
You can find all the information you need for free - first start with the big G itself. They have all the basics including explanation of quality score, how to target different geographic segments, following their terms of service to not get banned, etc. With every new site launch I use an adwords campaign to get a jumpstart burst of traffic. The secret to low-cost adwords traffic? Bid on longer tail keywords and keep your quality score high. Long tail keywords are simply more targetted searches. Let's assume your site deals with Corvette restoration. Instead of bidding on 'Chevrolet Corvette' which will have a lot of other bidders pushing the price up bid on 'Chevrolet Corvette Fiberglass repair secrets'. You'll have less bid pressure and as a side benefit get more targetted traffic. To keep your quality score high break your keyword sets down into multiple campaigns and push the traffic to specific pages on your site that match those keywords. For the example above you would have the adword campaign for 'Chevrolet Corvette Fiberglass repair secrets' and maybe 3 or 4 other similar keyword phrases go to a page on your site that actually has those particular keywords on the page, in the title, etc. More relevant search vs. target = Higher quality score = lower adword pricing. |

I agree...there are so many who are trying to get their pockets full by just giving not so useful tutoring on something that google is doing itself...being careful is important...

Good quality video and explanation, that even thought is two years old is still true.
Google used to be seen as the one click and you will have success story but people forgot that people who use adwords are only leads and not customers yet. That is why I like you tip about sending people to relavent pages on your site so that you match their interest and start building the trust. Not every customer who comes to your sites comes for the same reason, so it is a great idea to segment your information to meet the neds of different customers and send each of these different groups to the right area of your site straight away. Of course in the end you want the same sale but you make the journey to trust you a lot easier for them. |
